Located in the forests of the Low Beskids and Roztocze, the health resorts provide help to people with a variety of medical conditions. Those with allergies as well as metabolic or cardiovascular problems drink the water from the mineral springs. Those with back pains or skin problems take therapeutic baths. Those with respiratory disorders benefit from the high content of iodine in the air. Last but not least, the holidays here help them regain balance. Such is the power of the unique microclimate, unspoilt nature and the lovely setting.

The beneficial effects of the mineral resources and microclimates of these places have been known for centuries. The history of the spa towns includes a long list of monarchs, renowned writers and artists who used to come here “to take the waters”. For years doctors have been sending their young patients to Rymanów, as the air with high content of iodine and the local mineral water are beneficial for the respiratory and circulatory systems. This is also a good place for patients recovering from heart attacks. Those suffering from hypertension can benefit from the microclimate in Horyniec-Zdrój. Here patients can also take baths in sulphide waters and therapeutic mud.

In the 19th century Latoszyn near Dębica was well-known as a place providing treatments for rheumatoid diseases. The spa facilities were destroyed during the First and then during the Second World War. It is only recently that the village has regained its status of a spa resort. The youngest in this group, Polańczyk on Lake Solina is known for its springs of mineral water with high contents of salts, which are effective for instance in treatment of diabetes.
