Traditional products from the Podkarpackie region, made by small manufacturers and craft masters.

The sweet honeydew has been collected from forest beehives in the Carpathian Foothills and the Low Beskids for centuries. Today, honey is one of the favourite souvenirs which visitors take with them from the Podkarpackie, along with sculptures from the Bieszczady, grey pottery, artistic glass and local products with a wide range of flavours - pickled cornelian cherry, traditional cured meats and nalewka beverages.

No two pots at the Pottery Croft in Medynia Głogowska are identical. Each is handmade from clay, each is different and unique. They are all made using traditional firing technology and they present various styles in design. Culinary bloggers marvel at the taste of the dishes baked in such clay casseroles. A grey pot is a wonderful souvenir for your kitchen, while the wicker products from Rudnik nad Sanem will look great in your living room or on the terrace. The local weaving traditions are reflected by the fascinating museum exhibition, and products made from wicker, hazel and birch are offered by many family businesses, some specializing in this craft for generations.

Similarly in Przemyśl, the town of tobacco pipe makers you can buy beautiful products made by several local manufacturers. The carefully crafted pipes are sold in the small shops of the historic town, and some find their way to collections all over the world.

According to many, Poland’s finest glass wares are made in Krosno. This means that the list of souvenirs from the Podkarpackie also includes carafes, vases as well as glass sculptures produced by artists who have mastered to perfection the processes of glass melting and giving shape to such fragile items. They are as patient as the icon-painters applying gold leaf to the halos of saints. Icons as well as wooden sculptures are a speciality of the art galleries in the Bieszczady mountains. This is where you will also see the colourful krywulki necklaces, intricately woven from hundreds of beads. It is hardly surprising that many women like to have such a lovely piece of folk jewellery in their wardrobe.
