Unlimited opportunities for making investment, advanced infrastructures supporting the development of technology, a research-based potential enabling innovative projects and highly-qualified people ready to carry out ambitious tasks - these are the basic factors contributing to the economic potential of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship.

Diversity

The Podkarpackie Voivodeship stands out among other Polish regions for the pace and extent of its growth. The rapidly growing sectors include the aerospace, electromechanical, IT and chemical industries. A specific advantage of the region is its unique technological environment, where the freedom of creativity and the ingenuity of startups are harmoniously combined with the stability of the well-established companies operating in the specific industries. Other factors significantly contributing to the rapid growth of the region’s economy include the effectively operating special economic zones, which provide support for advanced investment projects, as well as new innovative businesses and existing companies. Another strength of the region is its constantly upgraded road infrastructure, improving accessibility of various locations within the region, and providing a link between East and West (A4 motorway), as well as North and South (S19 expressway, Via Carpathia motorway). The Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport, with its cargo terminal and logistics facilities enabling even the most complex international deliveries, is also important for the growth of the region's economy. Owing to the better accessibility, the Podkarpackie region is increasingly ambitious in opening up to the world and to international cooperation.

The Community

The strength and potential of the region was also undoubtedly impacted by the history of Poland, which regained independence after the First World War. It was within the Subcarpathian region that the major part of the Central Industrial District was established in the 1930s, with strong economic centres in Stalowa Wola, Mielec and Dębica, which today continue to play an important role in the region's industry. Another strength of the region is education. There are 18 institutions of higher education, which cooperate with business on a regular basis. In this they particularly focus on the region's key specialisations. Furthermore, owing to the number and quality of schools it is possible to tailor educational programs to current market demand. In fact the efficiency of the educational system is also reflected by the rapidly growing sector of startups, further impacting the future potential of the region. Involvement of the local community is evident not only in the domain of business, but also in support for the operations of non-governmental organisations and in the constantly emerging initiatives of the civic society. The cooperation of various groups of people leads to new, interesting projects attractive to investors from Poland and abroad.

Natural environment

Striving for a sustainable economy based on balance between technological advancement and attention to the natural environment is a trend in which the Podkarpackie region fits in perfectly. Owing to an institutional  approach to new investments in the region's economy, it is possible to preserve the unique natural and landscape assets, which have been the region's unquestionable brand for years. The Podkarpackie region, especially the Bieszczady Mountains and the Low Beskids, today is one of the most popular tourist destinations for those wishing to take a break from noisy cities, and wanting to enjoy unpolluted natural environment. For years, the Podkarpackie Voivodeship has also been known for its spa towns and villages, offering excellent services and treatments. Today, these also attract more and more visitors from abroad.
